In 1897 the Harger & Blish Company published a booklet of Dubuque photographs. This business located at 9th & Main was a combination piano dealer and photographic supply store. The photos include businesses, public buildings, private homes and scenic locations throughout the community. About 40 years ago it was reprinted locally but reproduced on an inferior stock which didn't do justice to the photos. Recently I found an original copy of the 1897 printing owned by my father. I've rescanned all the photos and worked carefully to restore them to their original quality. I present them to all in this digital format to be enjoyed for the future. You'll see many structures that remain and others that have been destroyed. As always, your comments are welcome.
